Getting a serious illness is not something most people want to think about.

In Australia, 35 people a day – from infants to the elderly – are diagnosed with life threatening blood cancers such as leukaemia, myeloma and lymphoma. A diagnosis can mean adults must leave work and home immediately to start daily hospital treatment, often for months at a time. The John James Foundation has funded the $7 million John James Village project, which allows blood cancer patients to stay with their family at the John James Village for as long as necessary without charge.

Now we need your help to make sure John James Village is Canberra’s best possible home-away-from-home for blood cancer patients. One way is to plant a tree for JJV. We  wanted to plant more than 40 established trees to form the beautiful sensory garden at John James Village.  Thanks to the support of the Canberra community we have sold 22 feature trees and currently have 21 remaining for sponsorship.  Please select a tree from the site map and donate now as your valuable tax deductible donation of $3,000 will fund one beautiful feature tree. Plant it in your name or the name of your business. Or get a group together and choose a special name. Your donation will be acknowledged on both the friends of the village wall and a beautiful name plate under your tree (images below).

$3,000 is a lot of money.

Then again, your tree will make a lot of difference
in the life of a lot of people with blood cancer. Thank you.
